The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Alexander Darakhvelidze, took part in the opening ceremony of the OSCE-supported simulation project "Combating Trafficking In Human Beings: Sustaining Multi-Agency Collaboration through National Simulation Based Training Exercises".
During the welcoming ceremony, the invited guests were addressed by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs - Alexander Darakhvelidze and the OSCE Special Representative and Co-ordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings - Valiant Richey.
Alexander Darakhvelidze reviewed the current situation in the field of Trafficking in Human Beings in the country, the important reforms carried out in this area during the recent years, the present challenges and the importance of simulation-based training. The Deputy Minister of the Interior also thanked the OSCE for its support of the project and its fruitful cooperation over the years, and wished the training participants success.
The aim of the project is to facilitate the introduction of simulation-based training exercise on trafficking in Georgia, through which the representatives of agencies involved in the fight against trafficking will effectively detect and investigate cases of trafficking in human beings for the purpose of labor and sexual exploitation.
